Hadley's Point Camp Ground, Bar Harbor, ME - Oct. 7th-9th 2013

We made it to Hadley's Point Camp Ground in the later afternoon on Monday Oct. 7th. We knew there was a storm rolling in around 8:00 p.m. so we headed out to explore as soon as we got in. it was the first time on our trip it was really cold! We didn't even realize how cold it was until we got into downtown Bar Harbor around the water. Boy, when that wind kicks up, it's cold!

The above photos are downtown Bar Harbor, ME. The Irish Pub, directly above is where we ate dinner. We learned that 'Irish fare' when you are in a sea food town is completely different. I was in the mood for a good hearty Irish beef stew, but their Irish stew was like lobster, mussels and clams. Umm....some might find that yummy but not me. I had the BBQ sandwich instead, lol.

It had been a long day and we wanted to get home before it stormed. We were all cozy in front of our fireplace with the wind howling outside and the rain beating down. When you are in an RV when it rains it's like being in a house with an old tin roof. It kind of lulls you to sleep.

When we got up Tuesday we were greeted with clear blue skies and temps in the 50's. it was absolutely perfect! We headed out to explore all over Mt. Desert Island. I probably won't remember exactly where each photo was taken but they were all taken somewhere on Mt. Desert Island. Some of the places we went were Bar Harbor, Seal Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Somesville...and some other little towns I cannot think of right now!

Tuesday we were greeted with clear blue beautiful skies!

Hadley's Point Camp Ground. Great park just minutes from downtown Bar Harbor. There are several others too but some don't take reservations. We like to know we have a spot when we arrive!

On way to downtown Bar Harbor

We stopped for breakfast downtown Bar Harbor. Jordan's Restaurant is known for their blueberry pancakes...yum!!!

Above photos are downtown Bar Harbor. It was beautiful! We figured it was so busy because of the lovely weather, and I'm sure that had something to do with it, but in the background you can see the cruise ship. We heard a cashier in one of the stores say everyone was from 2 different cruise ships and by 5:00 it would be quiet!

The photos above are somewhere on Mt. Desert Island. We took every little back road we could find and discovered so many beautiful places. Photos do not do these places justice! We literally were oohing and awing it was so stunning!

Back at Bar Harbor for dusk. Breathtaking! We shopped for some souvenirs, grabbed a snack then headed back home for the Rays game. Well, they lost, but proud of them for making it this far!

We got a good nights sleep for our long drive to Franconia Notch, New Hampshire tomorrow!

Until next time!

Blessings~
