Northwestern CT and Coastal CT - Sept 30th-Oct 2nd

We arrived at Cozy Hills Campground in Bantam, CT early evening on Sept 30th. Pretty park!

We got set up and headed out to explore while we still had a little daylight. It was just like postcards I've seen. Fall colors on the trees framing picturesque farm houses. Lovely! We stopped at a cute shopping area downtown and snapped lots of photos, then stopped for dinner at a place called West Street Grill Yummy!

All of the above photos show what can be accomplished when you get up early! Dave and I are not morning people, but we got up at 6:00 and headed out to explore before work. We had 2 1/2 hours and we saw so many beautiful places and even had time to grab a delicious breakfast sandwich at a quaint locals hangout.

CT is on the map!

Photos of our pretty park!
We were going to stay here 2 nights but we decided to leave on Tuesday and head to the coastal area of CT, near Mystic. We left Bantam around 3:00. Dave drove and I worked with computer on my lap and mi-fi! Technology is great!

We arrived at Hammonasset Beach State Park around 5:00 on Tuesday. It's a beautiful park with lots of sites in a heavily treed area, but then they have sites right by the beach. We had site #1. It is very open and we usually like more trees and privacy, but it was awesome. Water views and we could hear the waves from our RV!

The beach was only about 50-100 steps from our campsite!

Photos above are of the cute little town - Essex.

We had dinner at the Griswold House

The above photos were all from our campground! Beautiful place! Then we headed to downtown Mystic (below)

The above photos were from Mystic. What a great town! Would love to come back but so glad we stopped! We finished up work and had time to walk around, buy some souvenirs and eat some Mystic Pizza! It was actually VERY, VERY good pizza!
Early evening we headed to our next destination...Rhode Island!

Until Next Time...

Blessings~
Misi and Dave
